Supply Excellence

An Open Apology…and Good News

September 14th, 2006 · by Tim Minahan · No Comments · supply management

I would like to apologize to Supply Excellence readers for abandoning you much of this week. I was tied up at Empower 2006 where nearly 300 supply and contract managers and executives networked and exchanged best practices on issues ranging from “What’s the Right Organizational Structure for Supply Management Success?” to “Secrets to Fast-Tracking a Supplier Performance Management Initiative.”

I had every intention on posting from the show floor. But, the road to you-know-where is paved with good intentions.    On the plus side, from sitting in on practitioner-led presentations and roundtable discussions, I have garnered enough hot-button supply issues, approaches, and experiences to keep the pages of Supply Excellence hopping for months to come. I may even introduce new mediums, such as podcasts, so you can hear first hand some of the great supply and contract strategies and lessons learned from companies like Sun Microsystems, Abbott Labs, Alliant Techsystems, and US Steel.

Tune in here starting tomorrow for a series on the highlights and best practices from this conference.
